    puma rear passenger door lock?!!!wtf?

I saw a lady with three kids having issues with the rear side passenger door yesterday.
And as she was driving a copy defender 110 puma I Thought I would offer assistance.
Now I can only think that the linkage had come loose, because after moving the child safety door lock into the open position in the morning she had not been able to secure the vehicle at the door all day but did not have any issues with the other doors.
I tried a number of things just in case it was not the linkage but something sensored.
I manually locked the car, I tried reverting the child lock to its original position and utilising either the key or electronic means to lock the door, without taking the door panel off (not game on a brand spanker that did not belong to me) I really was hindered.
I did manage to secure the vehicle by physically locking the door using the button and locking the rest with the electronic fob.
Anyone else experienced this and what was the soloution?
Just as I see her about near my work and if it happened again I would be more able to assist cheers

happened in a toymota at work...

cause of the problem was the harness plug for the central locking actuator had come adrift.

the door could still be operated correctly manually but would not play with any of the electronic locking features.

the solution was a warranty fix which had the door card removed the plug pushed back on and then the card replaced.

I did tell her to get it booked in, being a brand spanker I certainly was not going to touch it beyond external tinkering.
see you in the A.M. old chap
