Pretty good idea I know what they mean - but it's not what they say.

Castrol is pretty adamant about not mixing coolant. I thought it was just commercialism, but speaking to customer services, apparently there could be significant issues with mixing different brands - things like complete separation or the stuff going glutenous and coating and blocking stuff to mention a few!
This is Castrol's specification for the Puma, but the website covers all vehicles from '92 onwards and the note 922 looks onerous enough!

Can't say I've seen it happen or experienced it, but I'm not going to take a chance![]()

So the 300tdi one from the order form, can that be screwed into the thermostat housing?
UPDATE, received a package from David today with two replacement sensors to be fitted into the thermostat housing. One sensor was longer than the other. David asked me to fit the shorter one (which is longer than the sensor that fits into the top of the radiator) first to see how it goes.
Well it worked a treat, i no longer have to put up with the loud beeeeeeeep for the first 5km or the engine temps gets to somewhere between 60 and 70 degrees.
Thanks heaps David, prompt service and now my alarm is back working how it should.
David did mention in his email to let him know if you plan to fit to the thermostat housing as a longer sensor is required.
