    Will Icom440 (and other outdated work when new 77 channels are activated

    Might be the wrong spot, but others might want to know as well. Will our current UHF's work when the new channels come on line ? or will we have to buy new UHF units ?

    short answer, yes they will continue to work, the 'new' frequencies are slotted in between the existing frequencies

    I believe the icom 41S & 440 etc can be taken to specialist icom dealer to be programmed to receive the new additional channels.

    I think this has been done and dusted before - several times. Search is your friend.

    That said... why not simply phone an Icom dealer and ask?
