    Thanks

Excellent feedback from you all thanks very much.

I had of course read the manual but wanted the real low down from the coal face - so to speak.

I actually pretty much drive it as normally I would. (Which is like driving my old 85 county !). I am sure the new one can do more and over the next few weeks I am sure to find out !

    Cheers

I might add that I ignored the handbook advice and drove mine normally including a long trip up the highway at more than 80 kmh .

Engine is fine and no oil appears to be used between services.

You may find initially that the engine will use some oil. I think I put in a 250ml top up on a long trip out west before the first service. Nothing added between services since.

The engine really starts to loosen up at about 20,000 km.

Interesting. Mine has not consumed a single drop of oil, even when we did a 4000km trip with only 5000km on the clock.

The engine has started to loosen up on 14000km, and at first I thought there was something wrong because it sounds like there's a bag of nails rattling around in there. But the Technical Manager at the stealership commented that this is one of the smoothest Pumas he's driven

Like you Naks, my D90, from new to when it had its first service at 20k km, did not need any oil to be added.

No disagreement there. The small amount you put in your vehicle was still a bl@@dy good performance.

A few of us here had experienced this profligate oil consumption with the Puma (which is why I raised it).

I used to put in twice that much every 5000 km in the 300Tdi and that was after a rebuild.
