I have an 02 def 110 wagon and fitted 255/85 bighorns about 12 months ago and found them to be much better on the road and they only just touched the rear top spring mount recently on a steep difficult section, this was with the suspension kit from gwyn lewis so the dislocation/longer shocks may have allowed a bit more drop on the opposite side. with the standard suspension I had no rubbing.
P.s have a look at tirerack in the U.S for prices, i would have imported but it needed new tyres when i got it. Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels

Others on here have gone to a 265/75 but I am not sure of the wheel offset. The height and width would be legal just have to check if they scrub. The 265 is a cheaper tyre but you could get a 255/85 or a 285/75 from the states for around the same $$. Or get a set of HT 265 and then get 5 -25mm offset 15inwheels and get some maxi 35in'ers for around $200 each
