    LONGRANGER AUTOMOTIVE FUEL TANK

Hi lads am getting a long range fuel tank fitted today and when i went back to pick up the Defender the tank fitter showed me were the plastic clip on a fuel line that goes onto the pump had snap off, and he had to ring around to try and get one, ended up have to buy the hole fuel lines from the filter to pump ( triumph landrover ) seemly this is a common problem when changing a fuel tanks and he is going to put flex conduit over the fuel lines as they rub together and where each other out.
just thought I would let everybody know what happened so as they are aware of the issue's if they are changing there fuel tank.

They don't snap off unless you are rough with them. Having removed many Defender tanks, I can say that it is VERY difficult to be gentle when trying to unclip the pipework though I cut holes in the floor to replace fuel pumps on these now, I suggest you do the same.

I have a hole cut in the defender just in-case the fuel pump dies but the guy at triumph rover spares said it was common thing to happen ,just would not want it to happen in the bush.

Can you buy just the plastic clips, and then attach them to your own fuel hose?

I want to re-route my fuel lines and add another fuel filter to the line, but would need to clip back into the original pump/filter outlets of course.

No the plastic clip is either heat shrunk on the fuel line, the guy today range around every one looking for a plastic fitting but no one had anything that fitted it, ( it is a landrover not universal parts )

    Smile Long range tank

    Hi team,

I am looking to install a long range tank so very interested in your comments.
Could you let me know the brand of tank best suite to a 110. I would like to mount front of rear wheels. Is it best to replace existing tank with larger unit or what?
    Look forward to your views.

If I ever drop my tank again I'd be replacing the plastic pipes with standard fuel hose. I’d also look to cut the entry point in the floor from underside as I have a draw system installed.

"If" the fuel pump goes I'll look to Mulgo to install his pump system that is external to the tank therefore accessible in case further change is needed.

    Just my thoughts.

    Smile Long range tank

    Declan,

Could you give me a few more details. Is it an existing tank replacement or mid mount? Where can I have a look at one.
Being new to LR all the silly questions.
