the new shaft arrived yesterday and i put it in thisarvo after work and no vibration at all, and no changing flanges needed thanks for all ya help cheers
As BigJohn suggested, you should have slotted the swivel balls. Anyway if you go the double Cardan route it might be worth getting a driveshaft specialist to adapt a Toyota one as they are better quality than Hardy Spicer DCs and the equaliser ball/socket is greasable. You may still get some vibration if the universal joint angle at the diff end is greater than 3 degrees or so.
Wagoo.
Bill, FWIW the new Hardy Spicer Land Rover DC shafts use the heavy duty Japanese DC.
It's much beefier than the Land Rover coupling.
I posted a flyer up here somewhere on another DC thread a while back.
IIRC Tombie was one of the beta testers and gave it a thumbs up.
i ended up going the heavy duty one from ebay it had hardy splicer joins and i am very happy with it and the more angle it can do is heaps better then the normal shaft
