Has anyone done this with a 130 in WA?
Well i've met with the engineer (i should mention i'm in nsw) and he feels we can strenghten the steel section that runs below the rear window. the steel vertical angles that attach at the floor attach to this at the top. this would give points near the top of the rear seat that are accesible without having to move the seat forward. he is still doing the caculations and will get back to me this week.
a side point is when they do any engineering they are also required to check the dimensions of the vehicle which will include wheel track distance. Mine is supposed to be 1525mm standard with a 25mm extra allowance bringing it to 1550mm. mine is 1560mmit has got 16x8 king wheels and the offset must be wrong.
Have to put the standards back on to get the certification done.
total cost for the engineer will be $990 inc gst

I have just been through this drama of fitting 2 approved child restraint points to the rear cab section of our MY11 CC HCPU.
When I have time over the weekend, I will attempt to post some photos on here for anyone that is interested.
When purchasing the vehicle, we didn't even think of anchor points, as I thought having rear seats that it wouldn't be an issue. Otherwise , I couldn't be happier with the vehicle, she does everything we need her to do .
This issue of the lack of restraint points in the Landy is not isolated to the make , other vehicle makes suffer from this also.
I have just had a "solution" fabricatied to provide 3 child restraints for a double cab 110 (2004) I imagine that the same solution would work for a 130. I have not had it inspected yet but it was designed in discussion with a QLD engineer. I will let you kow how I get on and post photos soon.

Here are some photo's of my engineer approved solution for 3 child restraint points in my 99 Defender 130. The Material is 1.5 mm zincaneal sheet. There are 2 parts to this. one is an L shaped piece and the other is just flat. these are used to sandwich the existing steel section below the rear window.
This is fixed with M6 high tensile bolts at 75mm centres each side of each restraint point and bolts at each end and at a max of 300mm centres throughout.
I have yet to get the final paperwork done (that's the expen$ive bit) but will do when i have the cash.

Hi everyone, newbie here
My s/h 130 Puma has had two anchor points added consisting of two plates of steel sandwiching the aluminum body. The anchor points can be reached from behind/under the seat.
What are the ramifications for not having a engineers certificate fort a child anchor point? Does it affect CTP insurance claims?
The vehicle was purchased from interstate and had to have a blue slip issued. No defects were noted at this inspection (although the inspectors may not have seen the anchor points)

						G'day all. I have a 2009 D130 and was wondering which sort of engineers you were going to for installation? I am in Cairns, so I don't suppose anybody knows an engineer up here who can do it?
