Dual Batteries

Rather than jam two batts in under the seat, I made a tray / mount and placed it at the rear bulkhead / under the tray.Also made a duel charger system from a 30 amp relay and bits from dick smith.
That was 5 years ago and never had a issue with the shed made stuff.

The trick is to chose batteries which suit the height limits

Pics of the galvinized tray I made and fitted up at the rear bulkhead / under tray back. Nut and bolt in the crn are for a swing away brace I added to counter the corrugations on the AB.

The batts tucked up out of the way, easy to access, no gasing issues and plenty room for wires. The main cable runs up to a J box on the head bord, with a fuseable link and outlets to fridge,lights,air ,ect.

Having fitted the Mulgo Ebox in the centre console, I have then fitted my deep cycle battery under the drivers seat similar to the original unit installed under the passenger seat. To get the height necessary to fit the battery I cut a hole in the bottom of the original box floor and fitted an insert that lowered the floor enough to fit the battery. It was then an easy fit with short cable runs to the main battery and isolator under the passenger seat.

Only down side is that I am aware of is the impact on the use of a sill tank which my insert might foul on, but as I had not planned on a sill tank this was not an issue for me.

Hi Davep130

Sounds like you done the same mode as I have, I am really pleased the way that the clearance issue has gone away.
I now have room for my compressor, dual battery isolator and a 300w inverter in there as well.
