nope youve got to shift the engine mounts or refab them.

    not too much else though

I would ask WHY. I had a 200 Tdi Defender and reckon that with the engine bbraking and gearing it was better OFF ROAD though worse at the top end on-road. Still I;d have a 200Tdi again without dramas.

What I;m saying is I don;t see it being worth the effort.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

In the 101 mmmm,i love the v8 sound too much.but i could handle the 200tdi fuel economy.. ive had a 200tdi previously and loved it but the gearbox was a piece of rubbish and i dont want to go through the dramas of repairing this one if it goes when i have a whole 97 deefer as a parts car.its not something i want to do straight away im just getting the facts together for down the track. Cheers.

I'm in the market for a back up TDI300, Im currently working off parts from a 94 disco 5 door and have a line on a 93 3 door if the doors will help (they'll come sans locks and windows they're part of what I got the vehicle for)

tdi300 into a 200 has been done before and is not all that hard at the end of the day... with a certified welder on hand to do the mounts I reckon its only really a days work.

I fitted a 300Tdi into my TD90 (rubbish engine the 2.5TD). All we had to do was fab up and weld on some new engine mounts (which were actually made up from some old I beam). It bolted straight to the LT77 (with a couple of bolts missing). I also made a new gearbox crossmember to make fitting the exhaust easir. This was just a piece of box section with tabs welded on the end (ala the propr 300Tdi crossmember).
