    Excellent steering damper for a D110?

    Hi,
    I have recently installed four brand new Koni Raid shocks in my 2.8 TGV Defender 110. I tried them today at speed in a rough dirt road we near Mendoza (Argentina) and they are SUPERB. The Defender is another vehicle!

    Thing is my steering shock absorber is a cheap Britpart one and I would like to see some serious improvement in this respect. What do you recommend as a top quality shock absorber for a D110?
    Does Koni make steering dampers for Defenders?
    The only one I have heard good comments about is the OME one. I willl be happy to buy an OME but I just want to check if there are any other options?
    Is the Old Man Emu really good? Anything even better?
    I ride 265/75/16 MT BFG by the way.

    A king shocks would be about the best quality money can buy and substantially better than the OME

    I'm looking at fitting up King smoothies to the puma, can't wait to test them out. Either that or some decent Koni's.

    hmmm, how much a KONI Raids in Argentina? They're very expensive here. I might have to import a set.

    No Koni's in Argentina. We have the right kind of dirt roads for Koni's but no Koni dealers, unfortunately....
    I bought them at Ultrarev (US) and shipped them home.

    What's the difference between Koni Raid and the other types of Koni shocks?

    Great price I just paid $A1800 for 4. So unless postage is horific then there is quite a saving.

    In relation to the Raids and other shocks I've never read a bad post on them other than price. To me says it all if you're prepared to pay. But the $A is good.

    AFAIK Raids are bigger, more robust. They are actually very thick and heavy.

    Scott: shipping was OK but I had to pay customs here in Argentina so at the end of the day I probably ended up paying more or less similar to you. I preferred not to do the math anyways.

    If your running big tyres 33" upwards then Ive had good results with the Tough Dog Return to Centre steering damper. Very good and reliable on long corrugated roads.
