I dont think there were any 200tdi 130 dual cabs in oz.
so that would make them first released give or take 1994.

change from 300tdi to the TD5 engine in 1999. Would need to check but I think the 130 kept the Salisbury rear diff despite it being dropped in the 110. AFAIK TD5 130s had no ABS and no TC.

So essentially for Australian model 130 dual cabs pre latest ford engined model.

    -1994-2007?
-choose between 300tdi or td5 powerplant (1999 crossover).
    -gearbox/tcase/drivetrain all the same.

The best ever, and ever to be LRA product

Not what you are looking for, but there was a small batch of 110 dual cabs made for the Bicentennial Authority in 1987!

r380 g/box went through a few revisions (j,k,l), latter suffix's better- main thing being mainshaft wear & trans input gear wear. Mines a j and fine ,depends on life of vehicle as to wear

The ones you are looking for are all Defender 130 models.

No problem on roundabouts, but parking, particularly in shopping centres etc can be a problem due to the overall length and turning circle.

Look for rust in the chassis, particularly rear crossmember and outriggers, and in the bulkhead at the rear of the engine. Heavily loaded 130s can crack the chassis, particularly with traybacks.

All Defenders have front and rear coils, (dual concentric springs at the back on the 130)

All Defenders sold in Australia are diesel, starting (1991) with the 200Tdi, then the 300 Tdi, then the Td5, and currently (from 2007) TDCi. Similar vehicles, described as 127 models prior to 1990 had either the Isuzu 4BD1 or Rover V8 Petrol, but I don't believe any of these were dual cab, although conversions may exist - Defenders are built like meccano, and changing body type is quite simple.

    Hope this helps,

ok thanx john very helpful, ok so changing a long wheelbase 130 single cab ute to a dual cab 5 seater possible? are the back half of the cabs easy enough to find cause the ones ive seen have those corner glass windows on the rear sides of the cab and the family wagon versions have very square and door at rear, one final question might be pushing it but child anchor pionts exist or need to be engineered? sorry to be a pain just trying to build the perfect tourer.

There are no child seat anchor points these would need to be fabricated, fitted and engineer approved.

Conversion of a single ab would require modifications to the chassis (suitable outriggers) to attach the extended cab, I think.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Changing a 130 from single to dual cab is quite possible, the problem is not the upper back half of the cab (interchangeable from Series 2 in 1958 onward, and the same for single and double cab, or the lower bit, less commonly available but easily built from parts of station wagon rear bodies, but the roof, which is not very common S/H (few dual cabs wrecked, in demand to convert 110s to dual cab), and is expensive new apparently.
