    Missed gear changes

G'day all ,some advice appreciated.I have just got my 1994 Defender 110 back after a complete gearbox rebuild and new clutch etc .Problem, the change from 2nd to 3rd is really touchy ,hard to describe but if I am not spot on it seems to lightly touch 1st or go into 5th gear .All other aspects of the gearbox seem fine and most of the time if I am careful it goes in.But I don't remember it being this touchy before.Do I just need some driver education(had the defender for 2 years but been driving for 45 years) or should I be talking to the mechanic .....Thanks

    Hi there

Explain the problem to your mechanic, as the apparatus to centralise the gearlever isn't set correctly.

Yep thanks for the replies ,it was the plate /springs not quite set up properly.Seems ok now and hopefully it will remain that way as everything loosens up...Cheers
