Take a look here: TD5 EGR removal

Same location of plumbing for Disco and Defender...

2005 Model has a cooler on front of block and slightly different inlet manifold end but nothing else.

Blanking kits are the same, with only extra blanking plates for the cooler.

    Thumbs down 09 Defender

I have looked but does anyone know anything about the EGR valve (and the removal of before mentioned item) on the ford powered versions of Defenders. I have a 06/2009 model and the EGR is squeeking and I am told it will need replacing, $500 or about 800 km round trip to do under warrenty.

Thanks in advance for your replies,
    Hugh

Removing the EGR on a Puma will give you "Engine Light" problems.

There are a few threads on how to do this with a blanking plate with a hole drilled in it to fool the computer, but I don't think anyone has yet found a good solution for Pumas.

Bell auto service in the uk have a EGR removal solution with what I believe
further developements to come. Complete hard ware removal. However at the
moment it consists of a zero operating stratagies for the Puma
Give Pete an e-mail as he seem quite helpful.
Have you tried cleaning the egr valve with brake cleaner etc?

local Landrover specialist shop blanked off Puma EGR two weeks ago all well (no Lights) and idle seems smoother (subjective of course)I believe there is a line of code from a UK company that will stop this light problem , I saw this on defender UK forum from memory

will check on Friday what was done exactly and get back to you.
I think it was Bell Auto service who have the code for the computer from memory and I know my guy deals with them
