    fuel pump adjustment 300tdi

hi all and happy easter was wondering i would like to ajust the fuel pump
back a bit on my defender have mentioned this before got a intercooler
upgrade my landy mechanic fitted a pyro meter for me but he fitted it
on the engine pipe below the manifold and turned up the fuel it is not blowing smoke except when towing up hill but still not much but exaust
temps are running between 400 and 500 towing up hill 300 to 400 on the flats does anyone think this to high down stream from the turbo any info would be great.

sounds all right to me, sustained periods of 500 is to be avoided when you have the pyro set up like yours. 750 is the figure when the pyro is in the manifold ie before turbo.

How much boost pressure you running. I would allow more boost and you will find that will lower the egt's and accelerate better as well, you have upgraded the intercooler and wound the fuel up but not increased the boost, when you add more fuel it will get hotter so by allowing more air in you will lower temps and get more power
