I bought a digital panel meter (that can be powered from the battery it is measuring) off eBay out of Hong Kong and wired that in. $10 all up (incl shipping and the bits I needed to provide here).

I've seen an Autron dual battery gauge in a D4 . It looked like it was a factory item.

I put a Mudpod in my D1 and used a couple of basic Speco Volt Meters which I got off ebay (Speco Meter Voltmeter 8-16 Volts Black Dial / Bezel | eBay). I paid about $30 for each meter, which was the cheapest option I could find.
Fitting the meters told me my deep cycle battery was goosed!! (you can see the 10 volts it was holding on the meter below).
I wired the main battery through an aux live (only when ignition is on), but now considering a permanent live as the meter shows nothing when the starter is cranking. I already have a switch to isolate the meters so they don't drain the batteries, but their draw is very low, so not a big deal.
I did consider an ABR digital meter (DUAL BATTERY SYSTEM MONITOR 12V VOLT METER ABR - NEW | eBay) , which are also fairly good value for money, but would have needed more fiddling to mount nicely in the mudpod.

In my Defe I installed a Mud console with 2 VDO volts gauges, one for each battery.

thanks
i think i like the look of the abr one
would be much easier to install one then two of the analoge gauges
