    Anyone know this vehicle?

    Hi all,

Does anyone know the vehicle below?

Why would the raised air intake not be coming out the conventional grille?

Also, do they look like non standard sills to anybody?

Also, does the different steering wheel centre (ie same as 130) denote no ABS or traction control? (see rest of photos on carsales)

Looking for options to change the 90 to a trayback (110 or 130) so am interested in this one.

Dont suppose any AULROians are near to this dealer??

The snorkel's a home made jobbie. Why though??

The sills look like sliders - fairly common addition.

The steering wheel looks like an early Defender type. Maybe the previous owner didn't like the current bulbous centre.

This model should have ABS/TC unless it's one of the first into Australia. Someone forgot to tick the ABS box on the order form for the first batch.

This looks identical to the defender was advertised on carsales a few months back as a private sale.... I remember looking at it when looking for my 110 double cab.....it was much different then though.

it had 35" muddies, that hideous snorkel, the sliders, some stainless roll bars on the tray about the same size as the snorkel and a series of lightforce lights on the roof, it also had a tube style winch bar and i think exhaust had been done.

You can still see the cranked rear control arm in the photo, .. i would guess that the dude got sick of advertising it privately and stripped the goodies off and traded it in.

he was dreaming as he wanted almost 60K for it & if i remember correctly it was in QLD not WA.

Also, do they look like non standard sills to anybody?Looks like ARB type

Also, does the different steering wheel centre (ie same as 130) denote no ABS or traction control?Vehicle has ABS and T/C (see rest of photos on carsales)

Had a look this arvo for You, Heres some pros and cons.

    Pros

Drives really well, no clunks from the drive line and goes well

After market suspension & Panhard arms (sorry cant remember brand) vehicle handles better than my standard Defender and it sits only 15 mm higher.

    Duel battery set up

    Rear wheel carrier

    Front bash plate

Checker plate in the load space

LR type Tow bar and ARB side steps.

    Cons

    Needs underbody rust proofing

Slight scratching around the drivers door handle

The SS RAI if you see it in a bad way, I think it looks ok in person.

Water ingress into passenger floor ( good luck fixing this )

Off side rear door needs realignment, door catch panheads scuffing the door seal. ( warranty )

I didn't think much of the after market stereo

Other than that, its a nice neat car.

    Regards

    Thanks for a great review!!!

    A couple of other queries.

You say rustproofing? Surface rust on chassis? Any ugly holes drilled or visible from previous switches etc?

Scratches thru the paint or polish out you think?

Did the dealer seem to have no knowledge of LR?

I can't see how they arrived at $51k more like $40 ish I would have thought

Thanks again, hope you enjoyed the drive!

Scratches thru the paint or polish out you think?it looks like the scratches are caused from his hands, he must have steel wool for hands

Did the dealer seem to have no knowledge of LR?Yes and very much Yes, He didn't even know it had duel batts

I can't see how they arrived at $51k more like $40 ish I would have thoughtI think $47,500 delivered to your door would be more like it.

Thanks again, hope you enjoyed the drive!
I did... I've driven 6 pumas now and everyone has been different, some substandard, some good and this one felt good.
