    Indicators 1999 Defender 130

Hi folks I have had my 130 for about a year now and have often left the indicators on as I can't hear them, and they do not always self cancel.
Then to my suprise last weekend I put them on to pull out from the kerb and they started to beep, Of course it did not last and the next time I used them it was back to normal.
So Please if any one can tell me if the beeper is a standard fitting and where to look for it might stop all those people making rude singes at me.
    Thanks in advance Dave.

I'm no expert, but I have changed the flasher can/relay on my 99 td5 def, the one I need (special for led tail indicators) doesn't tick, but if you replace with a regular flasher can, it ticks loudly (but too fast due to my LED rear lights). I'm not sure where the sound comes from, I thought it was the relay itself that I could hear - but it was quite loud. Maybe investigate the flasher can?

Thanks for your answer Towe, my can clics but not loud anough for a Defender. and it was just the one tme that it started to beep and I could hear it easily.
Now I don't know if it was suposed to make the beeping noise from new and has failed or if the last owner has added some thing.
    thanks again Dave
