Puma Replacement Ignition and Door Lock

    Hello Everyone

Can anyone who has had their ignition lock replaced under warranty advise as to whether the front door lock was also replaced or the locks reconfigured so that only one key is used.

My 2008 Puma 130 is going into have the ignition lock replaced next week and I got the impression talking to the dealer on the phone that they were going to charge me to have the front door lock changed to match. I will take this up with them on Monday when I drop the car off but would appreciate any comments from those that have had their ignition lock replaced ahead of Monday.

    Cheers

The lock set consists of 2 new keys, front and rear door barrels and the ignition lock. I had mine replace last year. You still use the same fobs.

I had the ignition barrel replaced last year, dealer would not change door locks to match, as they still work (not with the ignition key though). If I wanted matching locks it would be at my expense. I argued that warranty repairs should restore the vehicle to at least original specification. Given that most of the drive train has been replaced what difference would the cost of couple of door locks make and keep a satisfied customer?

They should have replaced a lockset if it was under warranty. LR do cover it.

    Thanks for your feedback

The dealer is adamant that the door lock won't be replaced to match the ignition. The new ignition lock has been fitted so I now have two keys! at the least the igntiion lock now works nice and smoothly

I have suggested to the dealer that they check with landrover as others elsewhere in Aus have had these replaced. Anyway have to go back to get the rear diff replaced so discussion will continue.

Less than 30,000km front and rear diffs replaced what next

Just had my ignition barrel lock changed yesterday at ULR, and guess what,
I now have different keys for ignition and doors.
I even specifically talked to the service manager prior about all being keyed alike.

Have the people who got them keyed alike had to do anything SPECIAL at the dealer to get this done?

    Regards

My 110 came from the factory with separate keys for the front passenger doors, ignition, bonnet lock, rear door, glove box. I found the best way to rectify the problem was to get a padlock for the fuel tank.
On the occasional moment when the car doesn't start, I find getting out and walking around the vehicle in a clockwise direction usually does the job. Sometimes you need to do a few laps.
The front passenger door locks automatically on closing. This way I can say who comes to this county and the circumstances in which they come.
