P022 Defender recall dumbness - no spares held to fix (in Adelaide anyway)

Sometimes even I am amazed by the lack of forward thinking by Land Rover dealers.

Got my P022 recall notice - no worries, sometimes things take 2 attempts to fix.

Rang up to book it in. They tell me that it will take 2 hours to check it, BUT if it needs a new felt washer they will have to order the spare parts and I'll have to bring it in again.

How much can a felt washer cost to hold in stock????? Even if the brake shoes are cactus, surely they only cost $50 or something minor (compared to dismantling everything twice)

Wouldn't matter so much except that we live miles from a dealer and it is pain to get the vehicle into town.

There you go - rant over.
 David

P022 Recall Completed - All Good

Got my P022 recall done yesterday. Didn't need the extra parts. All good.

Had to wait 24 hours for a part from Melbourne (I am in Sydney) to fix a broken bonnet latch. My Puma is growing up! Just spent her first night away from home!!

Gets a free wash at the dealers, which I am really happy about as we are on tank water!!! Good service.

 Beckford.
