What I mean is that the TD5 LIKE MOST MODERN VEHICLES relies on so many electronics and so on that it just isn't likely to last as long as an older mechanical contraption.
The actual phrase you quoted was said by a mate of mine who was a Land Rover mechanic an worked for the company for many years.
Naturally the TD5 wil always be a much nicer thing to live with day to day... as long s it works.
It's just my opinion - you don't have to agree.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I know it's kind of getting off-topic, but I'm still keen on the lower-tech engines too, Vlad. I've got a mate who's had good service from a TD5 (and one other that was a disaster) and I can see why he likes them... but I can't stop leaning towards fewer electronics.
Come to think of it, this mate is the same bloke who keeps selling Land Rovers, so perhaps his judgement is pretty impaired to start with....
