Noz, I can see from your sig that you bought a DC shaft, but did you eventually get it from Tom Woods?

Reading their website it seems they don't have a standard application listing for the Puma and make most shafts to custom order.

I'm interested to know what dimensions and specification you gave when ordering from them.

Lastly, are you happy with the quality?

    Cheers

Thanks, was the total cost comparable with one shipped from the states?

Amazing how some Puma owners lift their vehicles and there are no issues and others have the dreaded vibrations. I wonder what the cause is?

I'm getting a set of shocks/springs from a mate who is taking off a 2" lift and replacing with 3" lift. He has all around progressive OME springs with 25mm lift + 25mm spacers in the front and 50mm rear lift. In case the dreaded propshaft vibration appears, I will take off the spacers and run with 25mm lift in front.

I lifted mine with King Springs. It was a 2" lift but once you take into account: the bullbar, winch, Rocksliders etc...... It became about a 28mm lift. I was still happy with this. I didn't have any vibration problems but after reading up on all of this I did some comparisons with a TD5 and came to the conclusion that the main issue is that because of the height of the Puma engine they have tilted the engine, gear box and transfer case all nose up to the front of the car. This is what causes the issue. As standard they are already running a fairly steep angle into the transfer case but lifted it puts the prop shafts right on their limit. I can only assue the main reason some people have issues and others don't would be because of varing "true" heights of a 2" lift

I put a double cardon jointed prop shaft 654mm (from Devon4x4) into mine about 2 years after the lift had gone in and interestingly enough when I removed the orignial shaft it was essentially bound up and I am guessing just about ready to fail :0

I personly think you are doing your whole drive train a big favour in putting either a double cardon prop shaft in or at least one of the extreme angle units.

    My two cents

    Cheers,

    JohnR is 100% correct,

I am sure a paid considerable more to have it local but I wanted to know if I had amy issues I could sort it locally.

I paid $885 and I think it was $400 ish from the US
