200 Tdi 110 Aux Fuel Tank

					Hey Guys,

I'm looking to put an aux fuel tank on my defender. Ideally I'd like something with the same filler as the main tank - has its own sender unit and a switch to select between tanks.

Is there anything on the market, or should I make something?

 Alex

Pcture below is what I had made up and fitted to my 200Tdi.

Filler/s can be plumbed into original one, didn't bother with gauges as system was to pump/transfer fuel from reserve/s to original and always draw from original. Tanks held about 53 and 36 litres (depending on plumbing arrangement) and were mounted as sill tanks under drivers and passengers seats.

What kind of capacity are you after?

you can get wing tanks which sit in place of the filler hose so you fill directly to it and it drops with gravity into the main tank. should add 45Litres to your 110 with minimal complications.

I fitted a TD5 rear tank to my 300tdi 90. It has a seperate gauge and is transfered using a 12v fuel pump. I wanted to keep the original system seperate incase of failure. This way both systems are seperate.

Link to instal here: Fitting a TD5 Auxiliary fuel tank into a TDI 90 - Land Rover Zone

I know its not the same, but it may give you ideas for your own. The easiest of which may be a 90 side tank under your seat? then reverse what I have installed.

Longranger make a replacement tank for the 110 also: Long Ranger fuel tank for Defender 110 92> / TR407240

 other than that... Jerry cans

Opposite Lock have a few to select from and have stores located in Sydney.

I'm looking at the 45lt SS tank which sits under the rear wheel arch and uses the main filler and gravity feed to the main tank.

Has anyone had any issues with this product?
