    Bonnet jammed

    Hi All,

Today I shut my bonnet after doing an oil change. Then later went to open the bonnet, it wouldnt budge. On further investigation the bonnet hinge on the drivers side was un seated. Any ideas?

It is a 2003 defender, you can pull on the release leaver, nothing
    Thanks heaps!!!!

Been there, done that - but a long time ago, not long after getting the 110, so not sure of just what I did.

I'm pretty certain that I simply released the catch and then forced the bonnet up, fortunately without any damage.

You can remove the grille and get access to the lock, but I am not sure that this will help, as the problem is not the lock itself, but the fact that the bonnet is pushing the plunger sideways. If you lever the hinge that is unseated up so that it jumps above the bit on the bulkhead, this may reduce the pressure on the catch.

Opens again. I used a breaker bar to hold the leaver up, then jiggled and shook the bonnet until it opened.
