Securing under-dash air con in Defender ?

The under-dash air con on my Defender has fallen down on account of the screws stripping out of their holes in the dash. These are already larger than normal screws (the previous owner must have had the same problem with the originals).

Short of using screws the same gauge as a railway, is there any better means of securing the air con to the dash?

Perhaps some sort of nutsert arrangement in the plastic or…. ?

Someone might know of suitable clips / fasteners ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I would use Rivnutts. If the holes are big enough they will pop straight in, if not you can always drill them out to accept an M4 Rivnutt. If you want to see what they are like, and try some, pop over to my place as I have Rivnutts and the tool for inerting them.
Sorry missed your line about Nutserts (I assume that's what they are called over here).

Is the tool specific to a size of nut or does it cover various ones?

Anyone got any idea of cost of the tool and teh nuts here in Aus ?

You can borrow mine if you want. I think it has M4, M6 and M8 tools to insert the rivnutts.
I have M4 rivnutts if you need some.
