Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can help me with a couple of questions.

The story.........
I thought id be smart the other day and ordered a genuine ADWEST steering box from the UK to save myself a few $$

I ordered a 1996 Defender RHD box ADWEST # QAF500110

This should be the right one for my 1996 RHD Defender.

The Invioce says this is what I got.

The box I have been supplied is definitely the same a DISCO II box ADWEST # QAF000010

This box will not fit my chassis.....


I have plenty of know how on fabricating steel though, and have to mount the steering box 1 inch further forward than factory anyway to clear my custom Sals front diff. IF YOUR STILL WITH ME

NOW THE QUESTIONS.

1. Has anyone put a disco II steering box in a defender?

2. Is there any benefit to the Disco II box, ie strength, ratio lock to lock etc?

3. Some pics on the net (i know dont rely on the pic!! particularly on the net!!) suggest that maybe late defenders "POOMAAS" may run the Disco II box. Is this the case?


4. If I do run the Disco II steering box I lose the brace to the panard rod bracket that bolts accross the front of the output shaft on the box, anyone know if any "POOMAAS" run a different setup here, or no brace?
