Question Oily Td5 Defender ECU's and wires...

It still runs fine... BUT there's lots of oil under the seat base in the 130!!!! The ECU is now in the warmth of the house proped on a piece of kitchen towel...., a new injector loom is ordered. The question is 'How do I get the oil out of the wires between the engine plug and the ECU?' I have visions of an air line, hose clamps, hose etc and plan to pressurize the loom from the engine end forcing all the oil to the seat base end.... Comments, thoughts, and past experiances welcome please!!! (and any thoughts on remap's or 'tunit' chips welcome as well! Thanks.

mine was the same until last week.

i suppose it will all run out eventually until then i'm just going to clean the plug into the ecu every-now and then.

some where along the line some one has scored the wires running to the injectors to i guess let the oil out b4 it gets to the ecu... i guess there was still oodles of oil in the plug so it didn't work that well

Yeah, I've had the ECU near to the heat inside and very little oil has come out. I'm about to go out and build/fabricate somethin to pressurise the wires (engine end) with about 15psi of air, then if successfull I'l leave it like that for a few days! We'll see how much comes out in the now clean and empty seat box!
