The dealer lock-tighted something on my fronts and they have not loosened off since. I presume there is a bolt or nut in the mechanism that comes loose thus not holding the spring tension correctly.

trailcutter has a Puma (so do I) but Ranga doesn't so that is why (most probably) Ranga's 5c solution wont work
I asked LR to have a look at last service but the front doors still don't stay open. I use a block of wood
.
On the Puma, tighten those 2 10mm head bolts that hold the spring and bracket assebly to the A pillar, they are ALWAYS loose and I have tightened 6 or 7 sets now and the owners have said 'Wow, the door hasn't stayed open EVER! is that new thing??'
Great Pre delivery.

Tightening those nuts works...but only to the limits of the mechanism's design and therefore the effect is marginal and only on flat ground with no breeze blowing...unfortunately. There must be a better way!
I've gotten used to flinging the door open and getting out before it closes again.
