Has anyone repaired an OE fan/heat/ac unit fan shroud?

A fellow AULRO member has donated an OE unit and I would like to get it going if possible.

I know they are not fantastic but costs may dictate which way I go.

Is it possible to fibreglass the shroud for repair or some form of putty or tape or metal or what?
