    Defender Window Motors

    G'day

Sitting back in Weipa C/Park enjoying a beer or 12. The trip since the head disaster has been an excellent adventure with no major issues. However the window winder motors have decided to play up. First the passenger side, however a few light taps brought it back to its senses. Now the driver's side has decided to play nasty. Goes up, but won't come down. Stripped off the door trim and gave it a light flogging as well as copious lube spray to the regulator and bailey rails etc, but all to no avail.

Any suggestions before I get angry tomorrow would be appreciated.

    Cheers

I suggest checking all plugs/sockets for dirt and filth. The fact that tapping has worked on one side does not rule out other issues common to both. After all, why would both motors fail at the same time?

I'd look for broken or crimped wires where the loom enters the door. Following that, look in your fuse box. Could be a loose fuse. Swap the fuse for one known to be serviceable and test the system again.

    Good luck,
