Hello kings are way to hard but that side Defenders have 2 types of springs for the rear depends if you have a rover diff or a Salisbury rear diff as yours is 2004 you should have a Salisbury rear diff all defenders have rover front diffs hope this helps you out

90 and 110 are not the same. Got a pair of KLRS-05x (rears) for 110 Defender you can have for cheap if you want, they retain standard hight but better load. They are a shorter spring and need reclotation cones Just removed them to put air bags in because of the load I carry when I go north. Got relocation cones also and a pair of terrafirma shocks if you want them real cheap, got to clear my shed. by the way this is not an add.

Was unaware about the "2 types of springs for the rear" and don't understand why this would be so but P38 diffs were fitted to Defender rear from early 2003.

IMHO and experience the standard 130 front spring which are also the recommended HD option for the 110 is your best bet for the front. As for rears, I've always found that the standard spring with the addition of Polyairs was more than adequate. Of course, springs need to be matched with a decent set of say, Khoni dampers.

I've just fitted the air bags to the rear of my 110 and find them fantastic. I fitted 130 fronts a couple of years back when the bar and winch were fitted. The real problem has always been the rear when loaded and towing the boat all fixed now .

I have them fitted to mine and are quite happy with them. Yes they are hard, but it is a defender and I found too soft a spring is a waste of time in the Defender.
While only listed up to 2001 they will fit up to 2007 from memory. Did not know there were two types for different diffs, can not really see why either. I did know the shocks are different due to mounting points.

On the Firestone listing the same bags suit allmodel 110 Defenders from memory. I thought 110 Defenders ran the same rear springs unless fitted with a load leveler.

90 and 110 rear springs are a different diameter.

As for King springs on a 110, they are fantastic - very durable, stiff (in a good way) and are very capable of carrying load without significant long term deformation.

Ive put many on customers vehicles over the years (when I was in the UK).

From memory I run KLRR-05 on the Rear and KRRS-02 on the Front. I put these on my current 110 before it had an ARB bumper and Warn winch on the front. Over 2 years (since the bar and winch went on) the front has sagged about 15mm, before that it hadnt sagged at all.

The 140L replacement fuel tank and 60L aux fuel tank has resulted in about 20mm sag on the rear, but they are still (just) taller than the standard LR springs even when the car is fully loaded.

Ive just come back from going over the Anne Beadell, CSR, Tanami and Oodnadatta. The springs are still just as good as they were before I set off.

As and when I change the springs, now that the the car is more constantly heavy loaded I'll be putting on KRFR-03HD's on the front and KLRR-05HD on the rear.

As a side note, bear in mind that with springs of this height with a TD5, in order to maintain reliability under all axle travel conditions you will need to adjust the castor (I use 6 degree QT arms) and you will also need to change the front prop, either with a wide angle yoke varient or a double cardon one.

I run king springs on my 130 over mainly rough gravel roads in the NT. The ride has been excellent. Have a heavy canopy on the rear, LR tank & home made drawer - no sag at all yet.Still have the inner springs on the rear.
