Advice please. My machine is missing the last section of the hood lining, and the bit that goes over the tailgate/door. A previous owner took it out and no doubt threw it away so he could build an overhead locker into the LR, but I now want the headroom.
I suspect that the back will echo like a tin can if I dont put some sort of lining back in.
Where would be the best places too find a replacement. I tried Land Vehicle Spares but no joy. Any other suggestions in the Sydney/Newcastle/Wollongong area?

Yep, got one. But it has holes cut in it for speakers. You're welcome to it. Bit long to post.
You could make your own. It's only masonite covered in what makes me think of dog hair (the head lining material).

Danny,
Thanks for the reply. Yes posting it would be a problem. I know this is a big ask, but are coming to the Land Rover EXPO at Castle Hill next month. If you are you would be adequately compensated for putting up with the misery of travelling with hood lining on board!
If not, I will start work on the masonite and dog hair version.
Thanks again.
Jim

I replaced the whole hood lining with sound inulation foam 1" between the ribs thick covered with marine carpet over the top.
This worked really well at the front as well as I was able to bolt a overhead consule there as well with heaps more room.
Albert,
What glue did you use to stick the insulation to the roof, and what glue did you use to stick the boat carpet to the foam?

Hi, sorry no photo's with me, and since I will be in Nepal on monday for 5 weeks, so not for a while!
I got the foam from a industrial supplyer who told me to buy some contact cement, but when I bought the carpet they recommended spray on glue. I ended up just taking the roof off and dropping it off at a upholsterers with the foam. By the time I spent buying the spray on glue it was just as cheap to get them to put it on for me.
I am very happy with the consule, I stopped the 1" foam 200mm (from memory) from the front and have got 2mm alloy sheet with a folded up front ontop of the inside gutters. This makes it the right height to attache the sunvisers.
A cut out for the rear mirror and screwed up to the original visor mounts.
I have to make a version 2 becauswe the co-pilot is not happy that the stereo controls are strait above me out of her reach
