    Question Rear Seatbelt help

    Guys,
I took the rear seatbelts out of the 110 (along with rear seats) and stored them in the house for later (second row seats, not side facing seats - its a 110 Double cab).

When I took them out the webbing/belt wound its way back onto the reel until no more webbing/belt would fit.

I didnt think this would be a problem, but now when I come to pull the belt off the reel so I can get the bolt fixings in, the inertia reel has locked and I cant pull them out.

Any idea? I could really do to get at least the single seat and belt back in the car.

    Thx
    Jon

Hi, are you holding the seat belt very close to position in which it is mounted in the vehicle (check it isn't upside down which is sometimes the case). Take the unit, sit down and persist for a while, they usually start to work.

    Jon,

The ratchet lock is activated by a ball bearing moving along a grove inside the mechanism.

If you manipulate the position of the reel, allowing the ball bearing to return to original position it should allow you to un-reel the belt.

    Cheers

I'd second (or third) that. I've just been intalling new inertia reels and couldn't get them to un-wind either. Just have to hold them at the right angle and fiddle around with the webbing, and when you least expect it they just start to unwind.
