Naks, I think they are now at BDE on that software version. If the defender is running OK then you don't need to get every upgrade as it is released.

This picture shows the different software versions that are available for the EMS.
These are the previous software versions,

Thanks Brian, but from that image it seems FDD is the latest one?

Mine has a flat spot in 6th gear, only noticeable when I put the BAS map on because it accentuates it.

Naks, these are the software versions installed in the EMS at birth. So the first ones (2007 builds) produced will have had version 7H12-12K532-AAA. That software version with upgrades is now 7H12-12K532-AAD Your defender when built would originally have had version 7H12-12K532-BDA and has been updated to your current version of 7H12-12K532-BDD So the version 7H12-12K532-AAA installed is the firmware and the updated software is the last letter alphabetically, meaning A =version1 and D= the firmware has been updated to version 4.

I just got me new map from Gary the other day at Alive, he based it on the latest version (FCE), and it is running brilliant, getting around an extra 100k out of a tank, and have not been driving it conservativley. All round I am pretty happy with it now.

yeah Naks, was getting around 550k per tank before and now hitting around 650 refilling about the same spot, not done accurate numbers yet but usually when we fill up it take around 65litre, will try and do it accurately next time I fill, problem is the wife forgets to reset the dial sometimes so have to make sure I fill up next time.

also have an allsports intercooler fitted so that probably helps also.

it was running pretty rubbish before so overall I am pretty happy now.

    cheers

Ah, you have a 110, so your consumption is about on par with my 90's - around 10l/100km.

You use Fuelly | Share and Compare Your MPG to track your consumption - it's a nifty tool

I found I got better fuel consumption around 30k, in fact 30k was the coming of age for my 110, it drove better and I was really happy with it, 30-60 were the good days, after the 60k service is when it consumption went up and it drove crap, this was the service they changed the egr also, since the 70k service it has been much better and now my new map accentuates the good instead of the bad.

I guess to answer your q, I would say it may improved, but 10k per litre would be ok for my 110, had to get my head round that equation way to early for my brain
