				just pulled my rad out and found the condenser is pretty dirty and bent up at the top where the diagonal braces come up to the cross bar for the bonnet catch. i think i will get the grinder out and take a few mm off these braces so the new condenser doesn't rub on them. also found the bolts for the thermo fan have rusted away. took much hassle and the purchase of a pair of pointy nose vise grips to carefully pull these bolts free.
 
really annoyed at this situation, as a LR mechanic had the radiator out a few months ago to do the timing belt. i asked him to make sure everything was top notch. what does it take for a mechanic to actually care enough to take action on four rusted-to-buggery steel bolts on the condenser right in front of the rad he removed and replaced?? they even re-gassed the crappy old thing!!
 
i am gonna replace the thermostat while i am at it. does anyone know if they make one cooler than 180 degrees?
