:mad: Sounds like your pre-delivery inspection etc over there is no better than here then. Seen that exact same scenario many times.

Motul Gear 300 and NEO 75W-90 RHD have the reputation as being about the only fluids that give a reasonable to excellent shift in WRX's while also giving maximum protection to the gears and bearings, and to be honest i'm not sure if NEO have kept up in terms of development in the last decade.
Twenty years ago NEO made the best diff/gear fluids, RHD was the fluid of choice for most F1 and Champ Car teams in the nineties, and it's price reflected it
Motul reformulated Gear 300 a few years back and it is very, very good.
I use Gear 300 in the R380, it's more fluid in winter than Syntrans yet is an SAE90 at 100* which more closely relates to BOT130's VI (it's actually 'better')
that was me checking with rick about the oil...thanks again Rick.
the right oil ( BOT 130M) is pretty hard to get hold off..
castrol is not importing /selling any BOY range oil in OZ i was told by 2 reps and the ph. hotline
LR brings it in on their own terms.
i contacted 2 ford dealerships in Sydney about it... no luck at all..
i will need to order from LR part number is LR006519 $62/litre..
can the Castrol Syntrax go in both - transfercase as well as all diff on the Puma?
cheers Andre
Andre, what are Ford using in the Fiesta and Transit gearboxes ?
If you can't get the OE stuff I'd use Gear 300 or Syntrax, and yes, Syntrax can be used in the t/case and diffs.
Redline MT90 would be another alternative in the gearbox, but in my experience Syntrax shifts at least as well and is cheaper.
The other alternative is try either Karcraft (Silverwater) or BMI (Mulgrave)
They are huge importers, a lot of the old Land Rover dealers used to but their genuine spares through either, rather than pay the extortionate dealer wholesale price under previous owner Ford. ;)
BTW, I just read that the MT-82 used in the US Mustang comes out of a joint venture factory in China.
What are the odds that the tiny quantities Land Rover uses come from teh far east too ;)
Oh, and it's rated toque capacity in Mustang guise is 510Nm which is a tad more than the R380.
Which would explain this: Ford Mustang under gov and http://jalopnik.com/5792482/faulty-c...w-ford-mustang
Double post....thanks phone
