The thing is we don't know what and why the additive package is.
Some manual gearboxes use funky materials like carbon facings for the synchro cones, etc. which require dedicated friction modifiers for the best synchro function
If the MT82 uses conventional bronze style synchro's, my first go to fluids in 75W-90 are either Motul Gear 300 or Australian Castrol Syntrax (which is a different formulation to the UK Syntax, the Oz version is an ester/PAO full syn)

Has the above been determined?
Is there any feedback on how Motul Gear 300 goes inside the MT82?

My advice is still to use the dealer approved oil, at less than $150 for a trans oil change over a 50 or 60 K interval I wouldn't say it adds up to too much out of your pocket taking into consideration the 60+K that the vehicle cost.
I topped up a leaking MT82 today , the Landrover (castrol) oil is a BOT382.

Hi Justin,
Just rechecking the situation here.
Are you still sticking with the LR oil recomendations for the diffs, trans and transfer case?
I'm about to do all mine, hopefully befor Easter if I can, so just want to check.

Hi marcus i use the genuine spec bot328 in the main box a penrite progear 75/90 synthetic in transfer and penrite mineral 80w90 in diffs.
