I asked about the internal rear veiw mirror when getting my 120 county engineered. The answer was if it had one out of the factory then it has to be there, except in my case I have a non removable camping body on it which you cannot see through. This is to comply with the ADR's so you would find that you vehicle now doesn't comply therefore if you were to have a accident this give the insurance companies a way out! For the Remote mounted GME's you can get extension leads for them so you can hide them pretty well. I use GME SPK04 extension speakers

I think that information is wrong. If you check page 30 of
Australian Design Rule 14/02 Rear Vision Mirrors, it says.....
    Compulsory
    Unless a mirror would
    not provide rearward
    vision (as defined in
    paragraph 15.2.4.1.)
    Optional
    If the mirror does not

    provide rearward vision

    Side mirrors however..

    Compulsory
    1 on the driver's side and 1
    on the passenger's side
    Class II mirrors may be

    fitted as an alternative.

I have had small head GME's in the last 2 vehicles and the reason for going to them was because of limited space so it was hard to find somewhere to put the extension speakers. This time I went to a full body unit and have found it much clearer but that may just be a personal preference.

Different UHF (TX3100) but same location and I like it on the side of the cubby. Never gets in the way yet easy to access.

I am liking the idea of a roof console though...
