Thread: thinking of going to a 110

Hi All,

I've had my TDi 130 DC for 3 years nearly and after having spent a kings ransom on it have decided to go "modern" . So now the hunt ensues looking for a 2010-2011 2.4 Puma 110 wagon. Here in perth I may as well be looking for the elusive Scarlet Pimpernell- there are none around- there is one in albany but its too far away and brand new.

I also think that perhaps its better to look for one with a few kays thats had its warranty issues sorted out? I guess I have 3 questions at this stage :
1. should I look for a new one?
2. get a 2010 with 30-50K on the clock thats been sorted but looked after?
3. dealers are trying to sell me the 2.2 delivered late JAn if lucky what are the thoughts on this engine- no one has experienced it yet I know?

I cant believe that each time I decided to do something there seems to be a shortage.......

Mmm. I was lucky enough to get a good deal on a 90 last xmas and was very happy but I wouldn't want much less power than the 2.4litre. I think that's about right for a 90. If they do another deal in 2015 (or earlier) with the last batch of Defenders I'd definitely go for another one. Depends how much of a long term view you have. It's a tough decision on waiting for warranty issues to be resolved. The main "problem" with Defenders is that they don't really depreciate much over 3 years. I think you just have to be a bit lucky with new car. So far, it's nothing but an electrical lighting short for me but if you crawl under the car and see the quality of the wiring you can soon see why. I'm philosophical about it now.....I know this is the best car I'll ever own despite everything............even if the gear box blows tomorrow.
