The "new" part looks like the end on the Transfer Case.
I'd say you got the output flange, not the diff flange.

I was just looking at that part number, when I requested the kit I was unsure which one as I have the parts/price book but that was the kit the supplier recommended I even included my vin number in the email.
Or well these things happen but the postive thing is ive learnt something today thanks for your help.

So does the new drive flange fit now ?
In a toyota the spacer is a crushable so as to get the right preload, Its been a while but dont you have to use shims to preload the pinion bearings ?

Yes it fits and went for a 30k drive and no leak so far.
Shims are used to set the preload but I figured if I tighten to 130Nm it should be Ok.
There is a little play when you turn the flange by hand but for a fender with nearly 400k on the clock you would have to expect that.
I figure these days if you dont have a go you will never no and the more mistakes I make the more I learn.
I recently rebuilt the brake master cylinder I was a little hesitant as it is your brakes and also its the family car which the wife drives everyday but 2 months later and almost 5k it brakes better then it ever did (touch wood).
