My County has a rocker switch that will turn the interior light on / off. In its middle position it will turn the dash lights off.
Just a thought in case there is any such thing on your Puma.

Morning all.
Driving home last night, I noticed that my dash lights weren't working. it was only a short journey so I'm not sure if they hadn't worked form the start or if they suddenly stopped mid-journey. Centre console was fine and the digital odometer backlight was glowing its usual, beautiful bright green but the speedo, temp, fuel and revs were as dark as night.
I've done a few searches and in a couple of other forums, people have mentioned that this problem could be coupled with a loss of rear lights too. This to me, seems really silly and potentially very unsafe. But anyway......
I haven't checked whether the rear lights were working or not so I'll do that later. There was a LR behind me at one point and they didn't flash me as if to say "Turn your lights on, Dopey!", but I'll check regardless.
I wondered if anyone else has had this occur on a newish vehicle and whether it was found to be a fuse issue, switch issue etc. I loathe playing with vehicle electrics.

Chris,
By "rocker" switch, do you mean an adjustment of the headlight beam angle or a specific switch for dimming interior lighting?
If it's the former, I do have one of those but I haven't adjusted it recently.
If it's the latter, that sounds dead flash and I want one.

110 on the Hume at 2am, phone screen as speedo illumination is not cool. Issue with mine was the reverse light. Blew the fuse that powers rear tail lights (not stop lights) and the dash as you described. Took 3 fuses to figure out why
It's the latter! Nice 3 position switch next to the hazard lights just above knee height between steering column and driver's door.
1 Dash lights on
2 Dash lights off
3 Interior light on
Very convenient, which kind of makes up for the inconvenience of fumbling around there for the hazard lights when you need 'em.
Had the same problem driving home a couple of nights ago - blown rear tail lights and dash lights including clock illumination.
Initial inspection of fuses and illumination fuse OK. Replaced it anyway but still no joy.
Could it be a relay problem?

Hi Jimmy
Mine turned out to be a blown tail light. Replaced bulb and fuse. Problem solved.

Having the dash lights go out when the tail/brake lights are out is a safety thing-it is warning you there is a problem so do something about it!
Same as blinkers flash faster when a front or rear bulb is out. If its the side repeater that is out, it doesn't need to flash faster though some brands do.
The switch that lovemyv8county is talking about is only on 80s era 110s AFAIK. On my County the gauges stop reading when the tail/brake lights are out.
