Thread: Jack recommendations

Without going into quality issues (how often do you use a jack anyway?) a dual stage jack is great under axles with flat tyres:

Or carry two jacks, one smaller and one slightly larger.

Sorry to have to tell you that you cant go past a LandCruiser Jack, Also Hiace / Hilux , use same Jacks. Should be able to pick one up at a wreckers easily enough.

I bought a 5 TON version of that from the same seller a while back. Works well on the 110. Looks like he's only got the 10T one in stock at the moment.

Make sure whichever one you get is short enough to get under the axle when the tyre is completely flat and sitting on the rim.

x2. I use one for both the truck and boat. The Nissan one isn't bad either and also cheap.

I have a red Disco jack and it is good.

130's use a hydraulic jack (Disco ?) and I reckon it's a piece of poo.

I've had an 8 tonne Armstrong jack for 20 years now and it's never let me down.
It currently resides where the Land Rover jack used to live.
(I had a 5 tonne Lightburn prior to this but lost it out the back of my Jeep one dark night as some idiot forgot to close the back roller shutter )

It also comes out to play at vehicle service time as my 2 tonne Masada trolley jack doesn't have the nuts to lift our 4WD's.

yeah i have one of the red hydraulic jacks too in my 130.
have never seen a jack being made from so much plastic...

works good though =]

again hate to say it but those toyota ones are quite good.
can be used on different angels too as it is mechanical.
gives you more possible uses you will probably never need
