You mean the Toyota Overlander magazine??
Rough ride should have nothing to do with 4x4 ability test, yes it can be included in the ride and comfort section.
The 2011 Puma (Defender 110) scored an "Off Road Ability" of only 2.5 stars out of 5 in this months issue of the Overlander Magazine.
It was tested unloaded..... I agree the Puma is a rough ride empty, but how many people take nothing into the outback?
And it had the best fuel economy. Long Legs did not seem to be an important issue in the outback??
I was also surprised that the Nissan Patrol did not score higher???

Well, for me the defender is a winner.
It has economy, wheel travel, stability, load carrying ability, enough power, good driving position (unless you're 8.6ft tall i suppose), great visibility, perfect wheelbase, traction control, towing ability, millions of accessories, etc etc.........
It even has "presence" and only do important things........[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5yoKzatUkI"]The greatest car of all times !!! - YouTube[/ame]
C'mon - it's an icon and deservedly so - even today it does not have to rest on it's laurels for it can easily still hold it's own.
A 'fender, like a marriage, is for life. Sometimes it will test you, cause you pain or bankrupt you, but it will always be there, through thick and thin
