I've got a new 2.2 MY 2012- two months in and couldn't be happier. It came with the obligatory LR rattle in the door but the dealers are looking over that now.
Its just wonderful to still be able to own these things.:)
I first drove (Series and 110) Land Rovers about 20 years ago and while they've changed quite a lot in that time, they're still recognisably the same vehicle.
Just the other day the boss and I had run into Darwin and were loading sacks of concrete into the tray in Bunnings car park. Parked next to us is a flashy oriental cruiser with an old fella strapped miserably in the passenger seat. He winds down his window, peers over at us and his face breaks into a smile. "Excuse me" he says, what kind of Land Rover is that, what year?" I replied it was 2012 and less than two months old (but covered in mud). The old fella looks puzzled and then he brightens again "I've owned seven Land Rovers -and they all looked like that one. Just remarkable" he nods. Then his daughter returns with her Bonzai or whatever and she drives him off. As they go I see him turning around in his seat trying to keep the Land Rover in view.
Isn't that just fantastic? :D
Get yourself a Land Rover -you'll just love it!
