Good morning all and a happy new year. I hope this new year brings all you hope it to.

Mods, for the new year what are your thoughts on making this thread a 'sticky'?

I started this thread as a bit of light hearted dig at all the Defender (Landrover/Discovery/Rangerovers) owners that wouldn't wave back and 'Get on board' with this club within a club thing.
But this thread has proved that I was wrong! Overall the wave is strong, and clearly owners across the board like the wave also. So much so we love to post when someone returns the good cheer. For me, it actually makes my day a bit brighter. And that in a sometimes gloomy times can't be a bad thing.

I love this Landy thing. The people are extraordinary and always willing to lend a hand if needed. We will talk about ours cars endlessly. We even tell each other the bad things about our cars! Imagine someone in the Commodore car club telling you with a smile that their HSV was a leaky noisey POS, but how they couldn't bear to part with it.

Anyway, Mods please give it some thought.

Best of wishes to everyone for a safe and happy 2017. May your breakdowns be minor and your waves many.

    Another 4 on the m1

It's the season to see defenders it seems
4 spotted 3 waves while heading from the outskirts of Melb to waragull and one on the allanbie tarragon rd
    That's 7 110s ,2 90's and a military 109
Not bad for two days driving
Near all waved or may have

It would seem the wave is alive and well down here in Tasmania. Maybe it's because everyone is on holiday and happy or the locals are a much friendlier bunch than Brisbanites. Great to see. I will be driving around in a V8 D4 with a black hard shell tent on the roof for the next few weeks if anyone on here should see me.

Got a wave across the Pacific Motorway divide this morning on the way to Ballina from a grey 110.

I've been seeing a nice looking Grey 90 parked in the Southern River area in the last few weeks. Passed it on Warton Road tonight. Very friendly exchange of waves.

The wave isn't very strong here - but I managed to elicit a wink of the headlamps from an unidentified vehicle on my way to the wood yard yesterday. At first I thought it was a heads up for a speed trap - but nothing spotted so I'll take that as a "light-wave".
    cheers,

Still good south of tassie. Every defender waved so far even before I get the chance to be the first to do so. Good to see. I just love seeing them approach from the other side, gives you a chance to see them from a third person view if you get my meaning!
So gutted they stopped production of the defender last year. Still think about it and I just can't seem to get over it. To be honest I don't think I ever will!
