I am noticing that I am not receiving a wave back from any new Defender owners recently.
I must admit that both times it has been doing the school run so clearly the mum driving the new Defender would have no idea.
Should I just give up and not wave at a new Defender owners assuming that they have no idea about the Defender heritage?

Bide your time, what goes around comes around.
Wait until you get waved down by one, all teary eyed & "I
don't know what to do & my old man will be furious", 'cos you are of the same breed.
While lifting the bonnet with much clicking of the tongue & the odd "Uh oh" & sucking of air through teeth, you will be in an admirable position to fill them in on the History. Then leave them to it waiting for a couple of hours for the Breakdown Service to change their flat tyre.
Job done!
I dont know about a new Defender but I have had a few drivers of the Defender "classic" not wave.
There is a disturbance in the force, the snob factor has leached into the last of the Defender classics.
(we are calling it the Defender classic now arent we?)

I wound the window down and waved to a blue TD5 with a white roof this afternoon and only got a vaguely confused look in return - I was in the RRS though

I saw two new Defenders in the space of a minute this morning. Didn't rate even a glance from either.
Cheers, Billy.
