This is our rig in Darwin. All the bonnet accoutrements are Brit Army and sourced from UK mobs on ebay. I installed it ala UK Army or Lara Croft Tomb Raider. The advantage to this set-up is you can still walk along the wing tops with-out tripping over the garden implements. Although the 5lb pick head is located on the RHS wing top both the pick handle and LR shovel are riveted onto the bonnet. Hope this helps. And for more info…the wheel mount is from South Africa (via O/Lock).
nice def bushranger love the time magazine:D
Cheers.:D
I can't see any links .
Post up the URL of the Flickr site.
Just so it's clear there's two types, probably more. The Aussie ones that are made of gal and have big brass wingnuts on them. These are fitted to series and Perentie army vehicles. They fit the centre of the bonnet on a Defender, the wing tops on a series vehicle. I posted a link for a set on eBay a few posts above - these type are becoming rarer.
Then there are the UK ones fitted to the Wolf vehicles. These are made of buckles that loop over the handles of tools and hold them tight. An example can be seen here. LANDROVER 90/110 ARMY WOLF FULL TOOL FITTING KIT (NEW) | eBay These can be had new.
The Aussie army gal ones are best IMO but the beauty of a Defender is that you have some choice.
