    New Defender 90

    Hi from a Newbie!

Looking to get a 90 as a tow vehicle for my camper trailer. Need to be able to accommodate 4 people inside and wonder how much space would be left with both rear seats down. Could I carry a fridge for example?

Also wonder if it is possible to run a pull out drawer in the back section and still use the rear seats?

Interested if anyone has done better than the $39990 deal around at the moment. I suspect the dealers will be reluctant to discount? Am I likely to get any extras thrown in? Would obviously need at least a tow bar.

Thanks for your input and I appeciate the welcome to the forum,

40 000 sounds alright i just paid 43 for a limited. not much room with seats down. storage would have to be tall and shallow if you need seats up. fridge would fit. back seat passengers need to be under 180 as to not hit head on roof though

    hi mate,

4 people, draws and a fridge - sounds like you would be better off with a 110.

    Welcome to the forum.

Forget the idea of a fridge. You will be luck to fit a small bag behind the rear seats. As said you will also need to be short to sit in the back. I am 170 odd cm tall and my head touches the roof in ours.

You probably will be needing something a little larger.. I've got a 90 and it's a squeeze for me to fit myself, recovery kit and a couple of bags in.. the fridge, passengers and other stuff have to travel with hubby..

But you need to make your own mind up.. I'm also in Brissie so if you wanted to have a closer look at mine to see if it suits your needs drop me a PM..

In all honesty as much as I love 90’s you will have to pick one or the other – passengers or luggage – unfortunately they are not mutually compatible.

We’ve done a 5000km road trip with 4 adults before, but there was no space other than the eski in the back between the seats. Luggage and supplies had to go in the trailer (not a camper).

That said though, with the roofrack on and the rear properly planned out, we (2 adults) have carried enough supplies for a 4 week safari...
