    Grab handle for 130 passenger

Hi LRO, I don't really want to install a step except as a last resort, so I'm interested if anyone has installed a passenger grab handle, other than the door frame! It needs to be accessible from the ground and would also double as a hand hold for passengers who need something to hang on to around corners, curves etc.

Any thoughts pictures, details gratefully received.

    Cheers Q

I thought the left hand vertical end of the dash on pre-Puma models was a grab handle - or is that only for getting into the vehicle. I've always used it for that.

Pic below stolen from lr4x4.com forum:

Late edit. It looks like the Puma does have a grab handle (another stolen pic):

    Interested in this thread.

I would like to install one as well.

It cracks me up when someone gets in the passenger seat and straight away go for the grab handle.

It was a prerequisite of my restoration by SWMBO that I have grab handles above the doors. I have purchased three extra door grab handles (omitting driver of course) and intend installing them where they usually are in most vehicles. They will mount on the vertical edge of the channel around the base of the roof. I am however not using the standard roof lining. It's possible to do it with the roof lining, but you would need to use some sort of captive nut or nutserts on the channel and have a suitable length spacer/tube between the channel and the roof lining so you don't crush it when you tighten the bolt. I haven't done it yet so I can't post pics sorry.

Aye - I installed one for Mrs Spud in our 110. It is a little bit agricultural, but only because I have been too lazy to paint the metal fittings.

I installed one several years ago.

It was a left over from when the third row seats were removed when the storage system was installed.

Very simple, just had to pack between the hood liner and metal panel behind it, probably about 25mm from memory.

I installed this in my Defender. My wife seems to like it.

It screws on to a metal base mounted in the lip above the passengar door.

I made two but installed just one. If you're near Brisbane, you can have the other one if it's of use.

Yes we have installed grab handles, one above the passenger door similar to Vin Rouge's, and on on the A pillar on the drivers side. Not going out in the pouring rain to take a photo now, if you need one ask and I will take it later
