Hi pushkin
When I hold my knee against the door my quietens by a couple of dB's.
Keep meaning to have a look inside the door to see if I can fix it for good.
.
As is the way with defender doors mine rattle when shut, especially the drivers. Sounds like the glass rattling in the frame, doesn't matter whether the window is up or down - but it does sound worse when down. Does anyone have tips on repairing/strengthening the window frames to reduce the sound and protect the glass a bit ? Any mini projects done on this kind of thing ?
Thanks

SubscriberIt will be the 'Bailey' channel. U shaped bit of steel with felt/rubber on the inside that the glass slides up n down on. Did mine a while back. It just screws into the steel door frame. Most rubber shops sell it.
I agree, sounds like the Bailey channel is the culprit. If you cannot get hold of a replacement, an i.v.-drip line cut open lengthwise and squeezed into the gap will work wonder. Lasted a few years on my truck. Now it's time for a replacement again, though.
Cheers
Johannes
